Cady Ternity

Genre-bending indie-pop group Cady Ternity was conceived with its debut album, The New Direction, in a 200-year-old cabin nestled in the foothills of Northfield, Vermont by Ben Burr and Sara Primo in January of 2023.Now based in Winooski, Vermont (and often including the talents of Griffin Crafts) the spousal songwriting duo have earned critical acclaim for their sophomoric album, On & On Anon, which— according to Jordan Adams at Seven Days— was “…one of the best Vermont records of 2024.”“…colorful, mysterious, a little bit funny and occasionally dark,” Adams says, “…an essential new Vermont voice.”

Wojcicki
Jul

8:00 PM20:00

Wojcicki

Wojcicki is four-piece indie rock band based in Southern Vermont, featuring the music of songwriter and performer Matt Sharff, along with his longtime musical collaborators, drummer Phil Beninson, bassist Re Shepphard, and multi-instrumentalist Bethanie Yeakle. The band name (pronounced ‘Voy-CHEAT-ski’) is Sharff’s maternal family name, and was selected, somewhat cheekily, for it’s challenging pronunciation and spelling.

Their sound draws from the influences of post-punk, prog, songs of protest, and Americana. Originally started as a recording project, Wojcicki has released three albums: 2016’s Afterbirther, 2022’s Failure to Illuminate and 2025’s Wetmarket Scratch

The band has performed from Western Massachusett’s Pioneer Valley to The Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. This year’s release of Wetmarket Scratch sees them broadening their reach to cities in the Northeast, from Burlington to Boston, Providence to NYC.

Sharff began performing as a teenager with bands in his native New York City, at storied venues like CBGB, Max’s Kansas City, the Mercury Lounge, and The Fort.

Since relocating to Southern Vermont, he’s played from NXNE in Toronto to SXSW in Austin, sharing stages with broadly diverse artists including Emmylou Harris, The Jayhawks, Bill Kirchen, The Silos, Mark Mulcahy, Roky Erikson, NRBQ, The Misfits, and Senator Bernie Sanders. He’s recorded with Adam Yauch and T-Bone Wolk, and performed with Buddy Cage (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Dan Zanes, Jon Carroll (Starlight Vocal Band), and many more.

2025’s Wetmarket Scratch, a six-song EP recorded at Guilford Sounds (Pixies, Noah Kahan, Natalie Merchant, Roger Clark Miller) by Dave Snyder, mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Services, and released on 10” Vinyl, is a high point in Wojcicki’s evolution, with subject matter that plumbs the political as manifested in the personal, the natural, and the unconscious. The music can be both muscular and delicate, with abstract and angular textures hovering over and around driving grooves.

Founded from writings of consistent discordance of thoughts and emotions, his music has been renowned as 'visual' audio representations of his experiences. His latest full-length, Tar Queen, goes into the depths of processing the naive, unhealthy relationship with his first love and has been received with stank face, nodding heads, soft eyes, and dropped jaws. His newer music scrutinizes his tendency to observe uncomfortable moments but hesitate to act upon them. Moth Mouth is a four-piece band from Burlington, VT. Peter (guitar) and Jack (bass) began writing music together in college, and in 2024, they met Jeff (drums) and Emilyn (vocals). Though still figuring out their style, the band draws influence from metal, grunge, and post-punk.

The name "Moth Mouth" was inspired by a haunting vision a week before their first show. In the dead of night, Peter was awakened by a moth flying around his home. Suddenly, the moth opened its mouth and unleashed a deathly metal scream into the darkness. The band took it as an omen, and Moth Mouth was born.

Michael Nault

A storyteller at heart, Michael Nault wields an authoritative yet varied tone that spans from commanding to vulnerable. With a classically-informed piano approach, his style effortlessly traverses the realms of riff-driven rock, country, jazz, and electronic music. Forever hungry for new sounds, he is a passionate writer who continually searches for his unique voice. Each song evolves from heartfelt life experience, weaving together evocative lyrics that leave ample room for the listener’s imagination.

His musical journey is marked by diverse collaborations, from rocking in the Southern California desert to R&B artists in L.A. and jazz musicians in New York. This breadth of experience has nurtured a layered approach to song structure, allowing his music to be appreciated both on a surface level and with profound emotional depth.

His latest musical incarnation, The KOAN, draws inspiration from the enigmatic riddles of Zen philosophy. With an initial focus on the later works of Leonard Cohen, the KOAN project is ever-evolving, seeking to expand into increasingly original and varied musical explorations. The present is all there will ever be. “Now” never changes, only the urgency to embrace it.

Soft Sundries

Maddie Donaldson (vocals), Alina Donaldson (vocals), and Zach Wilkerson (guitar, synth, vocals), make up the dream pop band, Soft Sundries. Based in a bedroom in Bristol, Vermont, we sing lucid lyrics over indie-rock style guitar and then pretty much add random stuff till it sounds good, we are also huge fans of the Suzuki Omnichord. Some of our key influences include bands like Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star and Prince, and more contemporary influences are Mk.gee, Dijon, Beach House, and The Strokes.

Breanna Elaine

Breanna Elaine is a full time musician, singer/songwriter based out of Vermont. Breanna’s music is dripping with plenty of earthy folk, indie, singer/songwriter sounds, but the term “folk music” does not fully encapsulate the work of this blooming musician. Her debut album, “Seedlings" was released January 1st, 2023. She performs a mix of originals as well as a wide array of covers on both guitar and banjo. Breanna is recognized around Vermont and surrounding areas for her unique sound and songwriting talent. With over 100 original songs that have still yet to be recorded, this is just the beginning for Breanna Elaine, a true star on the rise.

“Generally classified on music sites as folk/rock, as the evening went on, it was clear she transcends definition. She’s been compared to Jewel (though Breanna’s covers of Jewel are in many ways superior to the originals), Alanis Morissette, and Janis Ian. Tack on an early Fiona Apple song and it’s easy to understand just how diversely her talent runs.” -Susan Johnson of the Brandon reporter

Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival

A student string quartet performs at the Rocket Shop during their residency at the 20th Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Performers will discuss the pieces they are performing and what it's like to be on the journey to becoming a professional musician! Nestled between the spectacular Green Mountains and the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, Saint Michael’s College hosts this summer's Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in June and July. This intensive program of solo and chamber music study welcomes college, graduate and high school age musicians into an atmosphere of rich stimulation and focused professionalism. The schedule provides four hours of individual practice each day, daily chamber music rehearsal, lessons, coachings, master classes and a variety of workshops. The Festival’s Artist Faculty concert series and its extensive student performance opportunities complement the productive practice and rehearsal schedule, creating an ideal setting for participants’ musical development.
