Rik Palieri- is a singer, songwriter, video producer and storyteller and who lives the musical life to the fullest. Rik has performed at concert halls, schools and festivals throughout the lower 48 states, toured Alaska by float plane, rode camelback in Australia sung on trains throughout Europeand shipped his way to Hawaii by playing his ukulele & banjo. He has performed, in Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Greece,Germany Australia, Poland, Mexico, Israel, Turkey and Argentina.
He has appeared at such venues as Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, The Port Fairy Festival, Old Songs Folk Festival, The Hudson River Revival, The Vancouver festival just to name a few, has appeared on countless TV & radio shows around the world and been featured on both NPR and the BBC
Rik is also the host & producer of TV program, “The Song Writer’s Notebook” that has been on VCAM since 1999. In 2009 over 300 of his interviews and videos were archived in the American Folk Life Center, creating the “Rik Palieri Collection”, in The Library of Congress in Washington D.C. In that same year he received the VCAM TV’s Director Award.
He has recorded 8 albums; He is also an occasional writer for Sing Out! Banjo Newsletter, & author of a book "The Road Is My Mistress, Tales of A Roustabout Songster" has a story in the Chicken Soup Series and is a co-author in the peace studies book, Music and Conflict Transformation- Harmonies and Dissonances in Geopolitics. Over the years Rik has performed and worked with some of the legends of American Folk Music such as; Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Paxton, Jimmie Driftwood, Utah Phillips, Ramblin ‘Jack Elliott & many more. In 2009 Rik was featured on the Grammy nominated Singing Through the Hard Times: a tribute to Utah Phillips.
When Rik is not on the road he lives in Hinesburg with his wife Marianna Holzer and Polish sheepdog Dolina.
